In the high-stakes world of startups, where founders and investors are constantly navigating the demands of building, scaling, fundraising, and investing, wellbeing isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity.

At Angel Club, we’re committed to supporting founders not just with capital, coaching, and community, but also with the tools they need to thrive personally and professionally. That’s why we launched Founder Flow: Peak Performance Coaching — a monthly gathering where founders can reflect, recharge, and realign through guided breathwork, meditation, and emotional resilience techniques.

Our April session, led by the incredible Tarin Calmeyer, founder and CEO of Remote Team Wellness, centered on Emotional Intelligence and Resilience, a theme that couldn’t be more critical in today’s volatile markets.

“It’s easy to forget that the most important asset in your startup is you,” said Tarin. “We help founders reconnect to their breath, their body, and their resilience, so they can lead and live with more clarity, creativity, and calm.”

Why Angel Club Prioritizes Founder Wellbeing

As Angel Gambino, founder of Angel Club, shared during the session:

“Supporting founder wellbeing isn’t just a ‘nice to have’ — it’s a strategic advantage. Investors at companies like Meta and Microsoft are investing thousands in similar resilience programs. We’re giving our members access to that level of support — for free — because when our founders thrive, everyone wins.”

And the value doesn’t stop there. Founder Flow isn’t just about personal growth; it’s about professional alignment too. The breathwork, somatic practices, and emotional regulation techniques Tarin shared are designed to sharpen decision-making, fuel fundraising success, and sustain the energy needed to build lasting companies.

Breathwork and meditation aren’t side practices anymore — they’re central to peak performance in startups.

Real Results, Real Community

Angel Club member and startup founder Jon-David Hague reflected on the impact of these sessions:

“As a new founder, joining Angel Club has been transformational. Beyond capital and mentorship, these wellbeing sessions help me stay grounded. They remind me that leading a company well starts with leading myself well.”

Jon-David also highlighted that having access to mentors, community, and practices like Founder Flow gives Angel Club members a huge edge compared to trying to navigate the founder journey alone.

Founders aren’t just fighting for attention from VCs — they’re fighting burnout, uncertainty, and emotional fatigue. Founder Flow equips them with tools to meet those challenges head-on.

Emotional Resilience: The Ultimate Founder Skill

During the April session, Tarin shared five core practices to boost emotional resilience:

  • Recognition: Name the emotion to tame it.

  • Regulation: Use breathwork to calm the nervous system.

  • Reframing: See challenges as invitations to grow.

  • Reinforcement: Build a resilient identity through positive self-talk.

  • Restoration: Prioritize rest and mental breaks as part of your strategy.

Participants practiced somatic exercises like butterfly breathing, bilateral stimulation, and box breathing to stimulate both sides of the brain, balance emotional reactivity, and move into a more focused, parasympathetic state.

“Resilience isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing things differently — with more awareness, clarity, and capacity,” Tarin reminded the group.
